Geography Quiz Arcade

About Geography Quiz Arcade

We make learning the world as fun and frictionless as possible — no signups, no paywalls, no ads in the middle of your game.

Geography Quiz Arcade is a free educational games site for learning the world: flags, capitals, countries, US states, map games, landmarks and physical geography, plus four daily challenges, study guides, printables and a live classroom mode. Every game plays instantly in the browser with no signup and no paywall.

Who makes it

The site is built and run by DixonAppStudio LLC, the small independent studio in Elgin, South Carolina, USA behind Mind Skills Arcade and a family of free calculators and learning apps. The same team writes the quizzes, checks the answers against current country and capital data, and fixes anything readers report.

How the site is funded

Geography Quiz Arcade is free because it shows Google AdSense ads around, never inside, the games, and because some pages link to maps, globes and books through Amazon affiliate links (see the affiliate disclosure). How advertising cookies work is explained in the privacy policy.

What you will find here

The site has three kinds of pages. The games are short quizzes on flags, capitals, countries, map locations, US states and outlines, each playable in a minute or two on a phone or a classroom Chromebook. The country and continent profiles give the facts behind the answers — capital, population, land area, currency and languages — so a missed question can be looked up on the spot. The learn guides and study hubs explain how to memorise a region rather than just testing it, and the daily challenges give everyone the same puzzle each day.

How we keep the answers right

Every quiz answer comes from one country dataset that the games, the profiles and the guides all share, so a capital that changes is corrected once and fixed everywhere. Readers who spot a mistake can email us and we fix the dataset so every page that uses it is corrected.

Teachers and classrooms

Classroom mode lets a teacher host a live quiz that students join with a room code and a nickname, with no student accounts or emails. The printables page has free worksheets and maps that may be copied for class use.
