Piece Catcher drops objects that you have to catch before they reach the bottom. As the rate rises you cannot catch everything, so the game becomes about deciding what to abandon — which is a more interesting skill than pure speed.
Objects begin falling from the top of the screen.
Move to catch them before they land.
Missed objects cost you.
The fall rate increases through the run.
Your score is objects caught.
Anticipatory movement and triage under load. Once the rate exceeds what you can physically cover, the score is determined by which objects you choose to chase.
Move to where an object will be, not where it is.
Stay near the middle by default. It minimises the worst-case travel distance.
Let far objects go. Chasing one across the screen usually costs you two nearer ones.
Catch in clusters — take two that are close together rather than the highest-value single one.
Not at the higher rates. The game becomes about choosing well, not about covering everything.
Where different values appear, prioritising by value per unit of travel beats prioritising by value alone.
Centre. It halves your worst-case distance to anything.
Practice the triage, not the speed. Most improvement comes from better abandonment decisions.
