Path Predictor shows an object moving and asks where it will end up — often after it disappears behind an occluder. Predicting a trajectory through a gap you cannot see is a specific skill, and it depends on holding a model of the motion rather than on watching.
An object begins moving along a path.
It disappears or the view is obscured.

Paths become more complex with bounces and curves.
Trajectory extrapolation — continuing a motion mentally when the sensory input stops. It is the same ability that lets you catch a ball that passes through shadow.
Note the direction and speed in the first moment of motion. That is all the information the prediction needs.
For bounces, remember the angle out equals the angle in. Most misses come from ignoring that.
Do not track the occluder. Watch where the object was heading, not where it vanished.
Commit early. Waiting for more information gives you none and costs you time.
Not in the later rounds — curves and bounces appear, which is what makes them harder.
A well-documented bias in which people remember a moving object as having travelled slightly further than it did. It systematically pushes predictions ahead of the truth.
Early. Extra watching time adds nothing once you have direction and speed.
